Social Responsibility

We only have one world, so treating it with respect is essential at Vicwest.

All of the products manufactured and distributed by Vicwest are engineered to provide the most eco-responsbile options available in the industry.  Our metal roofs contain up to 30 per cent recycled material and are 100 per cent recyclable at the end of their service life. This is not the case for other roofing materials that take up significant landfill space at the end of their life.  Plus, a metal roof is low maintenance and can last up to 4 times as long as traditional roofing material; meaning that the energy expended in its manufacture, installation, upkeep and renovation is much less than other materials.

The choice of the right building material is also important in green building design. Vicwest’s consulting and engineering teams have superior experience with finishes, substrates, reflectance, emissivity and insulation measures – all of which add up to energy savings!

Metal roofing and cladding is much more energy-efficient in that they naturally reflect light - keeping your home or building cooler in the summer and, when properly insulated, warmer in the winter. When a heat-deflecting coating is applied or a light coloured “cool roof” is selected, metal roofs can reduce summary energy costs by up to 40 per cent.

Moreover, our insulated metal panels also produce industry-leading thermal performance that typically out-performs traditional insulation material by up to 3 times.

At Vicwest, we firmly believe that having environmentally responsible products is only part of the equation. That is why all of our manufacturing processes are designed to produce an absolute minimum impact on the environment and display near zero potential for global warming.
